Mcween is a Northern Virginia based design studio, and consultancy established by Jeff McWeeney. Our approach is simple — solve business problems strategically thru well planned design, and technology.
Our (bi-lingual) team is assembled bespoke to each project from our network of designers, programmers, animators, writers, photographers, illustrators, editors, and SEO evangelists. Using the right team allows us to quickly focus on the problem, and create solutions that make sense.
Our recent projects have focused on communities, news portals, and the social web. We’ve provided solutions for Aol Living, Aol Communities (launching in 2010), the ATF, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Manpower Consulting, Pfizer, and Sport&Health.
Karla Stelling, Partner / Print Design
Karla joined as a partner in 2009 to handle print, packaging, and publishing design projects, as well as anything handmade or illustrated. Her design, and production experience dates back to the mid 90’s.
Karla began her career in Caracas, Venezuela designing brand identity, ad campaigns, and packaging for one Caracas’s largest agencies LOWE CONCEPT. After several years as a senior designer, Karla decided to enroll in Philadephia’s Drexel University to enhance her English, then attended The Art Institute of Philadelphia, graduating with a web design and interactive media degree. Shortly after graduation Karla spent several years consulting for a few Silicon Valley start-ups, design firms, as well as HP creating iconic brand identity, greeting cards, and a range of print materials.
Karla recently launched MOD-INK, a unique collection of graphic patterns, and custom illustrations inspired by the mid-century modern era - for use on textiles, plastics, and printed materials.
